Really Virtual?

I recently read a news article at timesonline and till now I am undecided what to feel about it :). The news was about a woman in Japan who "murdered" her "virtual" husband after a sudden and messy divorce.

To make my predicament more clear let me go further. This woman and her ex-husband weren't married in true sense but their "avatar's" got "married" online in a virtual world called Maple Story. Now after "living together" as "husband & wife" for a year, the guy suddenly sought out "divorce" from his "wife". The woman got angry and dejected at this sudden loss of her "spouse" and hacked into his Maple Story account and destroyed his avatar which he painstakingly created over a year.

If convicted (by real courts..) the woman can be jailed (real ones) or fined up to 3,100 pounds!Coming to my confusion, I am of course annoyed by the concept of this "virtual worlds" and I am "really" angry at them. Why "live" in the virtual worlds if one can't accept the harsh realities (virtualities?) one might face in them :P ? Hope this poor woman realizes how real impact her virtual life has on her real life.

I am still not sure weather to find the above amusing (over all) or just be annoyed?
