Castle Ambani : Antilia

" this post is about the new house Mukesh Ambani is having built and various thoughts that occurred in relation"

You might have heard/read/listened or seen the new house named Antilia that Mr. Mukesh Ambani is having built primarily as his family residence.

For details you can google or read (I will not be giving details here) -

I have read many articles and comments by people some happy for Ambani some angry at him for such 'waste of money'. But I believe that most will be like me - happy for Ambani but sad when thinking of all this poor fellow citizens.

Is Ambani morally at fault in building a 1 billion dollar home? I do not think so.

There is a saying in Telugu : ' ee chettu ki anta gaali' ~ a tree enjoys as much wind as its size. Meaning everyone spends as per his purse. As per me if M-Ambani is to be blamed then so is every one of those people who spend as much as money they can 'practically' afford to spend.

If you think clearly, we all do that. I buy the best I can - always; and if I don't, then 99% of the time it is because I have some other personal plans for saving. I have on and off donated to different welfare organizations .. so does most of us - be it social, cultural or religious.

Yes, I can and might blame M-Ambani and all those billions out there for not saving for others, if I were to do welfare without satisfying my creature comforts. For me it is always "let him cast the stone, he who is not a sinner".

I just read that CPI in its protest against rich of India becoming more rich due to stock-market boom said that M-Ambani earns 40 lakhs / min while the common person earns 6 paise / min.
I don't know if these figures are a exaggeration; as they are usually with statements given towards achieving certain objective.

But assuming that the statement is true - my life time of effort might not match an hour of M-Ambani's (I use "might" .. although that it wont match is a certainty - but human animal is endowed with this elixir called Hope :).

This thought will definitely cause me strife, but always the coin has two sides - what about those people who die when it rains? What of those kids I see half-naked on footpaths? This taught removes my strife and replaces it with guilt.

After all what do care of M-Ambani's wealth? I am not going to need money from him; and neither will he from me {:D}. I am not a RIL share holder. You might say that "millions are out there who need money from likes of M-Ambani, so please care how much M-Ambani is earning and spending". Ohh for sure, I will care about how much M-Ambani is spending; but first let me look at me and see if I am doing what I can for the poor of my country.

If and only if I see that I am doing all I can for the millions of undernourished and un-clothed and under-fed fellow citizens can I raise my voice against the M-Ambani's of India.

Darkness within cant fight and wont fight the darkness without. If I am light then without doubt and naturally will I disperse darkness.
